I have been thinking about publishing this post for a while, this post contains the list of the app which I have been using as a Developer on my Macbook Pro.

Alfred: This is the top search tool from my list, it changes the overall experience of using Macbook Pro. I replace it with my default spotlight search. The main advantage of Alfred is when you buy a powerpack and start integrating workflows for other applications.

Homebrew: Homebrew is “the Missing Package Manager for macOS (or Linux).”

Numi: It is a smart textbase calculator which can be used for unit conversion, currency conversion and timezone conversion etc.

Iterm2: iTerm2 is a replacement for the terminal and it works on Macs. iTerm2 brings the terminal modern looks with great features.

Oh-My-Zsh: Oh-My-Zsh is an open-source, community-driven framework for managing your ZSH configuration. It comes bundled with a ton of helpful functions, helpers, plugins, and themes.

Beyond Compare 4: Beyond Compare allows you to quickly and easily compare your files and folders. By using simple, powerful commands you can focus on the differences you’re interested in and ignore those you’re not. You can then merge the changes, synchronize your files, and generate reports for your records.

Postman: Postman is an application for testing APIs, by sending requests to the webserver and getting the response back.

  • It allows users to set up all the headers and cookies the API expects and checks the response.
  • Productivity can be increased using some of the Postman features, which are listed below.

VS Code: It’s an open-source IDE maintained by Microsoft, which also owns GitHub and OpenAI. VS Code allows developers to install useful packages that’ll make us more productive. There are already a bunch of useful open-source packages, so I’ve gathered a few of my favourites in a list.

Notion: Notion is probably the most amazing productivity tool to come on the market since the spreadsheet.

Todoist: Todoist is an online organization and task management platform produced by Doist Inc. The software is available as an app on the Mac App store and contains both free, premium and business options.
